Our non-gendered, inclusive childbirth education, parent preparation classes and pregnancy & new parent support groups are offered in-person or online. One of our doulas also offers yoga classes for childbirth preparation and recovery.

Non-gendered and inclusive childbirth education.

Material is created for families birthing in the hospital, a birth center or at home.
Classes qualify for insurance reimbursement, typically through your HSA/FSA.

If you’re a BIPOC person giving birth and prefer to work with a BIPOC childbirth educator, we recommend Whole Body Pregnancy.

If you’re a single parent by choice or a surrogate and would like education tailored to your family, please reach out to Nicolette Wessling or Kelly Overly to schedule a private class.


IN ADDITION to the class, each participant is entitled to:
a 90min private session with the instructor to create a birth “plan”.

Material Covered Day One

Setting the stage:

  • Establish key concepts for childbirth and mindfulness

  • Understand which hormones are involved with labor progression AND how to inhibit or enhance them

  • Learn how the pelvis and uterine muscles act as tools to move your baby down and out

  • Lower anxieties about the process and dispel myths

Day of birth preparation:  

  • Discover how to design your environment to be supportive for unmedicated or medicated births

  • Explore the tools your birth place (hospital, home or birth center) has to offer

  • Create a one page “birth preference sheet” to help communicate your goals for this experience

  • Understand the hospital policies and norms

Material covered Day two

Early labor:

  • Learn the stages of dilation/effacement and the variations of normal

  • Recognize the emotions and physical sensations common in this stage

  • Instill confidence in both the birthing parent and supporting parent

 Active Labor & Birth:

  • Explore pain management tools

  • Practice breath-work and distress tolerance techniques

  • Increase resilience and your ability to co-regulate with your partner

Immediate Postpartum:

  • Explore “The Golden Hour” (facilitation of feeding)

  • Learn the “Ins & Outs” of your postpartum stay (hospital or birth center)

  • Standard newborn care procedures

  • Understand normal variations of healing and recovery
