Birth Doula Services

Birth doulas are professionally trained in how to support families during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum. They do not have an agenda, give advice, or assume there is a “right” way to give birth. Your goals are their goals, and they offers education and information so you can make informed decisions that are congruent with your family’s needs and values. Doulas are attentive to your hopes and fears, they are respectful of your choices, and they inspire confidence in your ability to labor and birth. Take a look at our Brave Birth doula profiles to find the right doula for you!

Postpartum Doula Services

Postpartum doulas are basically experts in babies and new parents! They come to your home in the tender time after your baby is born and share their extensive knowledge, skills, and expertise as a way of helping your family settle into its "new normal.” A postpartum doula answers your questions, helps with infant feeding and soothing techniques, makes suggestions for your healing and recovery, does light household chores and cooking, and cares for your baby (even overnight) so you can get some sleep! Go to our Brave Birth doula profiles to find a postpartum doula who can support your family.

Support Circles

Brave Birth is proud to offer complimentary Pregnancy Circles and Parent Circles to all of our Brave Birth families (i.e., anyone who’s hired a Brave Birth doula). These Circles are designed to support your pregnancy and postpartum transitions by offering a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can bring your questions and experiences. Circles create opportunities for you and your partner to connect with other expecting/new parents and to spend more time with our birth doulas, postpartum doulas, and lactation consultants.

The Brave Birth Doulas have been such an incredible resource and lifeline for us in the months after welcoming our son into the world and becoming a family. We are so blessed to have them in our life and my only regret is that I don’t get to see them every day.
