Birth Monologues

Come join us at the Clinton Street Theater!  Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm.

To celebrate International Doula Month, the Mother Tree Doula Interns present the latest performance of The Birth Monologues: Everyone Has a Birth Story. You'll hear real birth stories from Portland's moms, partners, doulas, and midwives. These monologues, performed by local actors, evoke a unique perspective and experience of birth. Anything goes! Birth is raw, ordinary, transformative, challenging; birth is infinite. Proceeds from this year's show will be placed into a scholarship program to benefit the next generation of Doulas.

“We want to create a performance that does justice to the diversity and nature of this transformational moment in a woman’s life. And, while we’re at it, we want to recognize the defining power it holds for the mother’s partner, family, and her care providers,” says Kelly Greblo, director.

There will be a panel discussion on Doula care following the show.  Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
