While your Brave Birth doula provides one-to-one personalized care for your family that is second to none, there are numerous advantages to gathering together in a group format for additional sharing, connection, resources, information, and community building. Since Brave Birth aims to provide wrap-around care throughout the entire childbearing year, we created complimentary Pregnancy Circles and Parent Circles for our Brave Birth families and it has quickly become one of our most popular offerings.
Pregnancy Circles are held at our beautiful Brave Birth Studio and occur at 7pm on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. They are free to all Brave Birth families (i.e., people who have hired a Brave Birth doula) and they're facilitated by our amazing birth doulas. Pregnancy Circles offer opportunities for you and your partner to spend additional time with your doula, connect with other expecting parents, meet the back-up doulas, ask questions, and share whatever is on your hearts and minds. They also provide you with a safe space in which triumphs and challenges can be shared and met with respect and understanding.

Once you've given birth, your family gets to "graduate" on to our free Parent Circles, which meet weekly at 10am on Tuesday mornings. These Circles are casual, judgement-free gatherings in which multitasking is the norm. Over cups of coffee and morning snacks, parents are breastfeeding, bottle feeding, changing diapers, exchanging information and resources, and speaking from their hearts. Parent Circles are facilitated by our knowledgable postpartum doulas and offer opportunities for you, and your partner, and your baby to spend additional time with your birth doula and meet postpartum doulas who you might want to hire. A Lactation Consultant is also present at each Parent Circle to assist with basic breastfeeding challenges and provide weight checks for your baby, which can be an invaluable source of reassurance for new parents. During the tender postpartum you might need a safe place to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences more than ever, and there's nothing quite as validating as offering up something tender to a room full of people all nodding their heads, relating to every word you say.
