I could not have had the wonderful birth experience I had if it wasn’t for Brenda. I will hopefully be able to have her again and I absolutely recommend her to others.

My experience with Brenda was amazingly positive. At first I was skeptical about the need for a Doula but I am so glad I found her! Brenda took the time to get to know me and my needs.

Bio

As your Doula I approach everything with openness. I am present for your family with an open heart and mind as you travel through pregnancy and your birth experience. It is my goal as your Doula to guide you along the way and bring all the love and open energy into your birth story.

It has always been in my nature to work as a team and support people with compassion, and in birth work that is essential. I truly love the process of getting to know you and others that you may wish to be a part of this transformational experience. During pregnancy, I make it a priority to discuss any anxieties or fears, communication styles, and other experiences that are important to you and your partner. I then work alongside, as you create the birth preferences that best fits your needs and desires. I practice a variety of comfort measures and explore which coping techniques may work best for you. I strive to be the person on your team that will ensure your voice is heard. It is an honor to hold the space for you on this sacred journey.

I became fascinated with pregnancy and birth after I found myself a supportive role for friends when they gave birth. I took such delight in watching them become parents and being there for the births of their babies. When I was pregnant for the first time I truly realized the importance of having a supportive team behind me. Having my team of family, friends, midwives, and my partner shaped my first birth experience. With the birth of my second son I experienced the value of doula support first hand. Having that extra guidance and encouragement opened something in me and helped my husband feel more relaxed. It was after this journey that I found my role on the birth team. I completed my Birth Doula training through Mother Tree Doula Services then went on to further enrich my knowledge and experience in an intensive internship. The internship allowed me the opportunities to become an integrated part of the birth community.

Before becoming a mother myself, I had many life-changing experiences that have shaped me into who I am. And ones in which I had the love and support guiding me along the way. It is my belief that we should never feel alone, especially during our most vulnerable, emotional, and exciting moments. It is my dedication as your Doula to be there for you and your family.

When I’m not caring for my most precious gifts, my two sons, my husband, and our two cats--I find myself lost in sewing projects. Which usually includes costumes for my boys or a new dress for myself!

"Having Brenda as my doula during pregnancy, labor, and birth means more than I have words to express. The entire experience was everything I wanted and needed, and much of that is thanks to Brenda! I would always recommend her! Her calming presence, knowledge, and unwavering support, both physically and emotionally, helped to shape my birth experience into the beautiful start of life for my daughter that it was! She has a gentle and nurturing way about her, and is really an asset to anyone wanting support on their journey of welcoming a new little one! Brenda made the birth of my second baby a very comforting experience. It definitely helped having her there!"

"Brenda was an incredible doula. Her information was given to me by another doula that I worked with. From start to finish, Brenda was professional, friendly, and supportive. She was an incredible support person for both myself and my husband. She was excellent at reading exactly what we both needed. She knew when to give us space and when to press in. I had a hard time telling if I was pushing properly and Brenda was so encouraging and supportive. I could not have had the wonderful birth experience I had if it wasn’t for Brenda. I will hopefully be able to have her again and I absolutely recommend her to others."

"My experience with Brenda was amazingly positive. At first I was skeptical about the need for a Doula but I am so glad I found her! Brenda took the time to get to know me and my needs. She introduced me to pain management exercises I hadn’t thought of and was willing to practice and explore the ones I had. I felt comfortable discussing my birth plans with Brenda and it was nice to know that I could count on her to be there when my special day had arrived. I will never forget how comforting and supportive Brenda was during my labor. I had an amazing natural birth experience. I truly believe I couldn’t have done it without her. She knew what I needed and found many ways to make labor a more pleasant experience. She stayed by my side for every minute of it. When my mother and sister arrived she found a nice way to tell them I would prefer if they stayed in the waiting room until it was time to push. After the birth of my beautiful daughter, I still felt supported by Brenda. She checked up on me through texts and home visits. She even came over to help with chores and bring me an amazing homemade gift! Having Brenda as my doula for the birth of my first child is something I will never forget. I am confident Brenda will continue to provide life-changing support and comfort for women."
